Biography:
1. My name is Viviana Sandor, and I am seeking a NCIS Membership.
2. The growth in large and unstructured data has created both challenges and opportunities in its complexity and quality and our efficiency. I address these challenges with the focus on increasing both accuracy and processing speed. I have expertise and passion in Digital Signal and Image Processing. I do research and development work, researching mathematical techniques and algorithms and visualizing results in various programming languages, with longtime experience in C/C++/Matlab/HTML.
3. In recent years I have expanded in professional community activities, diversity and inclusion. I rely on my communication skills to share insights both to technical and non-technical audiences. I am teaching and organizing Web Presence and Web Design events at an international Meetup Group “Bucharest Web Presence and Marketing on the Web Meetup Group” of 800+ members. I am also a moderator for a LinkedIn international group “Image Processing Interest Group” of 52k+ members. I am a member of IEEE and SIAM.
4. I lived in the USA for 20 years, where I obtained my Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from William and Mary - the second oldest university in the USA, and I was a faculty at Oakland University. I taught C++ based courses in the areas of Programming and Data Structures with C++ (core CS1), Algorithms (core CS2), Algorithm Analysis. Core courses included classroom and lab, and enrollment of 40+ to 90+ students per class. Wrote Lab Manual, and coordinated these courses for the Computer Science program accreditation.
5. I enjoy being a mentor and also a team member. In Romania I have National Research Lab experience, where I acted as technical lead for process-control software, and taught on-the-job training classes.
