Biography:
Dr. Sylvia Grove holds a Ph.D. in French literature from the University of Pittsburgh. Her work broadly considers the role of gastronomic writing and food policy in French constructions of gender, race, and nation; her current project evaluates the vexed figure of the French boulangère in literary, social, and oral histories from the 18th century to the present. Dr. Grove has taught at Ursinus College, Temple University, and Susquehanna University (USA); since 2020, she has worked as a French teacher at Central York High School (Pennsylvania, USA).
