Biography:
Stefan Kaspar earned a diploma in mathematics from the TU Dortmund University in 2009. In the period between 2007-2012, during and after his studies, he had the possibility to collaborate with researchers from one of the leading companies in the oil industry in various projects. His topics of research included combining algebraic and numerical methods, back then a novel approach in industry, as well as research in pure mathematics. Having been trained as an IT-specialist for application development prior to his studies, he returned to these roots in 2012 and has since been working as a professional full-time software developer. Hearing the call of science, he resumed working on open problems in mathematics and computer science in his spare time as an independent researcher in 2014. He is currently doing fundamental research on the topic of infinite matroid theory.
