Real name:
Biography:
I originally intended to become a field biologist, probably an invertebrate zoologist. My summer employment while in college was on the education staff at the Museum of Science in Boston. This led me into natural history and museum work, as well as environmental education. While having lunch with Margaret Mead at an AAAS conference, she severely scolded me for not recognizing that the natural sciences alone cannot solve our environmental problems. We need to also focus upon the importance of addressing human behavior. This led me into the social sciences and the environmental humanities. I have, though, still kept a finger in natural history.
