Biography:

Mary Lefaiver, PhD is a Leadership Development and Coaching Content Strategist at Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC), a large, global consulting firm. An avid researcher, Mary has authored or co-authored refereed journal articles, book chapters, refereed published proceedings, and presented at both national and international educational conferences. Mary’s primary area of research has been in facilitating learning through technology. She has also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and as a Graduate Research Assistant in the College of Education at Florida Gulf Coast University.

Mary holds a B.A. in Government with a minor in French from the University of Virginia as well as an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Educational Technology from Florida Gulf Coast University. She holds a PHR certification and a graduate certificate in Instructional Design for Simulations. Mary earned her PhD in E-Research and Technology Enhanced Learning from Lancaster University (UK).

Mary's research and professional interests lie at the intersection of Shrewsbury’s feminist pedagogy and Raelin’s Leadership-as-Practice (LAP). She is interested in how the pillars of feminist classroom practice can be translated into enterprise/business settings to enable individual and collective human flourishing. Thus, the leadership development focus is directed towards coaching and mentoring early-career nascent teachers and leaders – recent graduates, interns, junior associates, and frontline staff – matriculating into business and academic educational environments.
