Biography:

James M. (Jim) Huebner is an accomplished biopharmaceutical drug development leader with nearly three decades of experience advancing innovative therapies to patients that address urgent, unmet medical needs. His contributions have supported the regulatory approval of several new drugs, including ADCETRIS® for Hodgkin’s lymphoma, TAZVERIK® for follicular lymphoma, and ZUJULA® for ovarian cancer. Jim holds a master’s degree in Biological Sciences from Western Michigan University and has authored or co-authored peer-reviewed publications in the areas of physical chemistry, inflammation, electrophysiology, and neuroscience.

While his formative academic and professional training was centered in the natural sciences, Jim has long maintained a research interest in philosophy – particularly in moral epistemology and the philosophy of mind. His current work explores the phenomenal character of moral experience and the contextual factors that give rise to it. In 2015, Jim earned a Master’s degree in Ethics and Public Policy from Suffolk University in Boston.

In applied ethics, Jim has focused on moral dimensions of the biopharmaceutical industry. In 2014, he published his first peer-reviewed paper in this area, titled “Moral Psychology and the Intuition That Pharmaceutical Companies Have a ‘Special’ Obligation to Society” which examines the psychological and normative foundations of public expectations regarding corporate moral duties.
