Biography:
I was born in Morbegno (Sondrio province, Italy) in 1966 and I wanted to be a geologists since I was in the middle school. I've always been interested in science and research and after graduating in Geological Sciences I've considered for some time the idea of pursuing an academic career. For a number of reasons, however, I've decided to become a self-employed professional geologists and a teacher, but in my spare time from work I've carried out research activities also in collaboration with the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Pavia. In 2010 I've applied for and obtained a Ph. D. position in the same Department. My Ph. D. research concerned the application of machine learning and Bayesian networks to the analysis and management of the risk of well pollution in an area of the Po River plain, in Italy. Currently I live and work in Morbegno.
