During the last month we were pleased to welcome one Full and one Associate member to the NCIS fold.
New Full member Dr. Brandi Wren (USA) earned her PhD in Biological Anthropology from Purdue University in 2013 after studying Anthropology and Biology at Ball State University (M.A., 2006; B.A., 1999). She is currently a Lecturer for Purdue University and Colorado College as well as a Realtime Text Interpreter. Her research on primate-parasite dynamics and behavioral ecology has been published in multiple journals: PLOS ONE, Comparative Parasitology, African Primates, and Folia Primatologica. She authored two edited volume book chapters, the most recent being a forthcoming co-authored piece entitled: “Contracting and Consulting: Crafting a Career,” in The Invisible Professor: A Blueprint for Adjunct Faculty (2022).
Early career researcher Dr. Kyle Jones (USA) has been accepted at Associate level: Dr Jones earned his PhD in Middle Eastern & North African Studies from the University of Arizona in 2020 and his thesis can be seen at https://repository.arizona.edu/handle/10150/642191?show=full. Prior to obtaining his doctorate, Jones obtained MAs from the University of Arizona and UC Davis and his BA is from UC Davis. Currently, Jones is working on an edited volume chapter for a forthcoming book on heritage language
phonetics and phonology, and is also scheduled to present his research at the Heritage Languages Around the World conference in May 2022.
