A former tenured Associate Professor of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania where I worked for 23 years, I moved to the Boston area in 2012 for the advancement of my spouse's career. While there, I worked as a visiting assistant professor of a state university for one semester, as a professional writing tutor at a private college writing center for one year, as a data analyst/linguistic annotator for an MIT artificial intelligence researcher for eight months, as an instructional module writer for MindEdge, a company that produces etexts for online university courses, as a linguistic consultant for a published mystery writer and for the 6th Annual South Asian Spelling Bee (for whom I produced a 101-page Pronouncer's Guide, containing over 1000 words used for their national spelling bee). Most recently, I worked for two years as an online English faculty member teaching research writing, linguistics, and literature for Southern New Hampshire University. Meanwhile, my spouse's career took us from Boston to Pittsburgh, and now to the Erie, PA, area, where we plan to stay permanently.
