I have taught theology/religious studies. My unfinished dissertation topic is modern day ultrarunning in the context of desert asceticism. I was a writing center director and a lecturer of first-year writing and rhetoric, and academic ESL. I am the author of English for Pharmacy Writing and Oral Communication. I have published on spirituality and healing. I am a HuffPost, Thrive Global, and Medium contributor and have written about ultrarunning, spirituality, gardening, my book collection, surviving a medical nightmare, and much more. I have been teaching in higher education almost 25 years and running ultramarathons (50 mile, 100K (62 miles), 100 mile and 24 hour endurance runs) since 2005.
