National Union Catalog of Manuscript Collections (NUCMC) from the Library of Congress.  "National" meaning US. 

Union Manuscript Computer Catalogue: Melissa Conway and Lisa Fagin Davis have initiated an effort to develop a computerized union catalogue of manuscripts written before 1600. At the moment, the site offers just a list of participating institutions and a description of the project.

CIHM: Canadian Institute for Historical Microreproductions: a large microform collection of Canadian imprints. This is a search page for the catalogue of the CIHM, provided by the University of New Brunswick. To find the CIHM home page, choose "home" on the search page.

Theses ProQuest Dissertations & Theses database (PQDT) A database of about 2 million theses and dissertations and an ordering service for purchase by mail or online

NEW! WorldCat: A huge listing of published works, now on the web and searchable by keyword from OCLC, the service libraries use for InterLibrary Loan.
